M62 full carriageway closure (Rochdale)

The M62 will be closed over two weekends, on the Eastbound carriageway between Junction 18 (Simister Island) and 20 (Rochdale), and on the Westbound carriageway between Junction 19 (Heywood) and 20, for the demolition and rebuild of the Castleton railway bridge.

Delays are expected, please allow extra time for your journeys.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Signed diversion route will be in place.

Eastbound and Westbound overnight closures on: -

  • 21:00 Friday 6th - 6:00 Monday 9th September 2024

  • 21:00 Friday 20th - 6:00 Monday 23rd September 2024

Additional night closure will be in place between Monday 9th September and Thursday 19th September 2024, between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 each night.
